AceFlix! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our mobile application ("App"), which is developed and maintained by the AceFlix team ("Developer", "we", "us"). By accessing or using AceFlix, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
AceFlix is an English-learning support application that helps users learn vocabulary through movies and TV series. Users can search for movies, and (if eligible) TV series, and participate in interactive learning and revision sessions (including multiple-choice questions) based on selected movies or TV episodes.
For each movie or episode, AceFlix provides a set of vocabulary words and related learning content. To keep learning manageable, the number of words is capped (currently up to 50 words) per movie or episode. The specific amount of content shown may vary based on product changes and system capacity.
TV series features are available exclusively to Premium users (see Section 6).
AceFlix is intended for users aged 9 and above. We do not apply a content filter within the app. The app may display third-party movie and TV series posters, titles, and metadata obtained from external providers. We do not control or guarantee the suitability of such third-party content for any age group.
To access AceFlix features, users must sign in using either Google Sign-In ("google.com") or an email and password. Your authentication account is managed through Firebase Authentication.
Except as described in these Terms, we do not maintain a separate cloud database of your personal profile details.
AceFlix is designed to minimize personal data storage. Most learning and revision information is stored locally on your device.
Learning progress, revision data, and session history are stored locally on your device and are fully isolated per account. The app supports multiple accounts on the same device, and data created under one account is not accessible from another account.
This isolation is designed to protect user privacy and ensure strict separation of data between accounts. The app also applies independent abuse-prevention safeguards. Using multiple accounts in parallel on the same device may trigger such safeguards.
We collect limited, non-identifying usage information to help us understand how the service is used and to improve its features (for example, aggregated session metrics such as durations and counts by activity type). We do not intentionally log personal profile details as part of this analytics data.
If you submit feedback through the app, that feedback may be transmitted to our systems and stored together with an account identifier to help us review issues, improve the service, and prevent abuse.
We may store processed, non-user-specific data to improve performance and reliability (for example, through caching mechanisms). This data is not intended to include personal user profile information.
AceFlix Premium is an auto-renewing subscription (currently $2.99/month, plus applicable taxes, unless otherwise presented in your store region).
The term “unlimited” refers to normal personal usage. Internal abuse-prevention and fair-use safeguards may still apply at both the device and server levels.
Purchases are handled through Google Play Billing and may be managed via RevenueCat. Pricing, taxes, and availability may vary by region and are shown during the purchase flow.
Unless cancelled before the end of the trial, the subscription will automatically continue as a paid Premium subscription. No learning progress is lost when a trial ends or when a subscription is cancelled. TV series access requires an active Premium subscription.
To protect the service and ensure fair use, rate limiting and abuse-prevention safeguards may be applied at both the device and server levels. These safeguards may apply to all users, including Premium subscribers.
Users may not attempt to reverse engineer, copy, modify, or interfere with the app’s operations in any way. Unauthorized access, tampering, scraping, or damaging our services is strictly prohibited. We reserve the right to suspend or ban users at our sole discretion in case of violations.
If you discover a security issue or a method to bypass Premium access controls, we encourage you to report it responsibly by contacting us (see Section 13). Do not exploit such issues.
You may delete your account from within the app (where available). Account deletion is intended to be immediate and irreversible.
We will provide an in-app warning and request confirmation before account deletion is processed.
All rights to the app, including its content and code, are owned by the developer. External resources such as illustrations, media metadata, and third-party APIs used within the app are credited in the "About" section.
All movie posters, TV posters, titles, subtitles, and related media are copyrighted by their respective owners. This app does not claim ownership of any third-party content. The app uses third-party APIs (including TMDB and OpenSubtitles) but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB or OpenSubtitles.
We are not responsible for any data loss, interruption of service, or other issues arising from the use of this app. You use AceFlix at your own risk.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes indicates your acceptance of the new terms. The most recent version will always be available within the app.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be handled under Sri Lankan jurisdiction.
